MEET THE MUSICIANS

Piccadilly Swing have been performing together for over 15 years with an unrivalled rapport between band members that you won’t see in many groups. With each of our five members possessing top-class musical talent in their own right, Piccadilly Swing transition effortlessly between the hits, providing the soundtrack you need for your big day.

Matt Keane – Band Leader, Piano and Keys

Matt has worked full time as both a music teacher and passionate musician with bands such as Swagger, Doggett Brothers, and various Jazz projects. A fine pianist with a love of all things Jazz, Swing, Soul and Funk, Matt is regularly booked to play piano at weddings and events.

Rachel Dawson – Lead Vocals

Rachel is an engaging professional singer and violinist who has performed with the Piccadilly Swing duo and band for the past 15 years. Rachel has extensive experience performing and working as a musician and is inspired by classic Swing and Jazz singers right through to the queens of soul and pop.

Tim Ainslie – Guitar

Tim has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting local performers. He has played in bands such as Swagger, Groove Doctors and King Bizkit, and is always in demand on the national scene with a distinct sound that livens up any gig. Tim regularly leads guitar seminars and workshops and his explosive style and ability to play in any style marks him out as a top draw player.

Rob Palmer – Bass

Rob has played bass guitar for bands such as Swagger and Albino Cubana, and is also a busy Jazz musician, composer and writer. Rob currently runs Jazz East with guest spots from top Jazz musicians country wide. Rob plays both the double and electric bass and has a particular passion for Jazz and Swing. His most recent book on the subject was published last year to critical acclaim.

Alex Best – Drums

Alex has performed as a top class drummer all over the world and is often touring or getting involved in session work. Alex has gained a reputation as a real class act, and his ability to transition effortlessly between Swing, Pop, Jazz and Rock to the highest standard has gained him a strong reputation as one of the UK’s best. Alex’s deft touch enables him to command his instrument naturally with class.
